Our next show will be The Three Musketeers, by Ros Tunbridge & Simon Vines, on Wednesday 29th January to Saturday 1st February 2020.

The shows commence at 7.45 pm with a Saturday Matinee at 3 pm.    Box Office will be open on 1st December.

Auditions will be held on Friday October 25th at 7.45pm at the Purley United Reformed Church Hall.  The entrance is down the side of the Church opposite the public car park.  It is a relaxed social occasion and everybody gets to read a variety of parts from the Dame to the Princess.  Depending on the number of people auditioning we are usually finished by 10 pm at the latest.

Constance Bonacieux

Traditional panto dame. Warm hearted widow and landlady of the “Tete du Nag”, she has a sharp sense of humour….and an even sharper tongue.

Simple Simon

Likeable bar tender and general dog’s body to Constance, who becomes man servant to D’Artagnan. A bit cheeky and hopelessly in love with Constance’s daughter, Kitty.


Pretty daughter of Constance and seamstress to the Queen. Feisty and single minded……yet still a hopeless romantic who falls in love with D’Artagnan.


Young hero of humble background, with a burning ambition to become a Musketeer. Falls desperately in love with Kitty as soon as he meets her.


Traditional panto animal……but with a substantial, speaking role as Constance’s rooster, who is mistakenly regarded by everyone as a chicken. Has a close relationship with Simple Simon.


Long standing member of the Three Musketeers, who is generally regarded as the “leader” of the group.


Second member of the Three Musketeers. Debonair, charismatic and charming, he embraces the celebrity status afforded to his position.


Third member of the Three Musketeers. Considered to be the strongest and toughest of the group.

Captain Treville

Gallant captain of the Musketeers. He is righteous and upstanding……..and the romantic target of Constance!

Cardinal Richelieu

Traditional panto villain. Cunning and evil Chief Minister to the King, who has designs on taking power for himself.

Milady de Wintour

Evil seductress who possesses the power to cast spells on unsuspecting victims. She is a spy for the Cardinal but has her own plans to take ultimate control.


Third member of the evil trio. He is a cold-hearted agent of the Cardinal who recruits Cam and Bert to carry out his ruthless commands.


One half of the traditional comedy double act. Stumbles through the show, alongside his dim-witted brother, Bert.


Second half of the comedy double act. He is recruited, along with his brother, by Rochefort to foil D’Artagnan and the 3 Musketeers.

King Louis XIII

Weak-minded, hen pecked monarch. He often appears to be in a world of his own, with no grasp of reality.

Queen Anne

Unhappy, long suffering wife of King Louis. Of Spanish origin, she is frustrated by the shackles of her arranged marriage.

Duke of Buckingham

Air-headed, upper class English “toff”. An unashamed philanderer who spends all of his time chasing women, he immediately takes a shine to the Queen.


There are a number of supporting roles (each with dialogue allocated), providing opportunities for chorus members to make a significant contribution throughout the show.
